Past Symposium

Democracy and Inequality

OVERVIEW

The influence of money on the democratic process has been the focus of great concern over the last decade. Who can donate? How much? Should the government finance election campaigns? Should there be any restrictions on campaign donations at all? Do government reforms work? Do campaign contribution limits restrict free speech?

As part of a symposium sponsored by SDSU's Institute for Ethics and Public Affairs, these questions and others will be discussed by a panel of distinguished scholars at 4 pm on Tuesday, October 5 in the SDSU Aztec Athletics Center Auditorium. In addition to the short lectures presented by each speaker there will be an open question and answer session.
